Towing Questions

I am interested in building a Skoolie but I dont see any talk about towing a trailer. I want to tow a trailer weighing close to 2,800-3,900 lbs (empty) with a 3,000-3,500lbs load. I need to know if Bus engines will haul this additional load, and at a speed of 70mph. What is needed to add a hitch and any other considerations. Has any research been done on this?

Hey @Horse'n arround - What size bus are you looking to buy? Short bus with a van chassis or larger school bus (mid to full size)?

I am hoping a midsize will meet my needs. I was thinking a longer bus might whip the trailer around when cornering and as I will be hauling a horse trailer, it might not be easy for them. Backing with a full size will also present some difficulty. I also wonder about installing a hitch on the longer bus. You don't see many busses on the road with trailers so any suggestions will help. I plan to only travel 4 to 5 months a year.
